the sun is all the love i need
the sun crawls in through my bedroom window, waking me gently.
the warm rays splay out on my thighs, caressing them as a lover would do.
and like a lover, it’s coaxing me out of the covers, out of my clothes as I begin to react to the warmth it’s providing.
i could reach up, shut the blinds, shut the curtains. but for too long i have ignored the sun’s embrace, have shut myself up, blocking out my lover.
no more will i resist, no more will i let the darkness consume me. darkness is cold comfort, a false lover, at first bringing relief, but finding only hollowness instead.
the sun is my true lover, bringing me strength, warmth, and joy. the sun welcomes me back with open arms, promising to keep out the darkness if only I will let it.
the sun is all the love i need.
